Natural resources management:
Healthy ecosystems and natural resources are humanity’s lifeblood. Local communities and indigenous people living alongside these treasures are the best guardians for their sustainable management. Action for Change Association (ACA) empowers communities across Cameroon through a powerful approach: community-based natural resource management (NRM).
This strategy merges conservation efforts with sustainable development, tackling social issues like poverty, hunger, and climate change. By creating incentives and fostering responsible resource use, community-based NRM empowers local communities.
Beyond conservation, it fuels rural development, reduces poverty, and strengthens local democracy and good governance. ACA utilizes this approach to combat overfishing, unsustainable land use, and poor farming practices.
The benefits are far-reaching. Communities become more resilient to climate change, and lives improve dramatically for those who rely on natural resources for food, income, and necessities like housing, healthcare, and education for their children.
